Abstract

This article proposes to enlarge the significance of the sustainability concept and its application to several scenarios immerged in the nature-culture universe. The projection of macro-scenarios has been established as a methodological axis, considering the sustainability as a generative and explanatory matrix for the subjects presented. It prioritizes the sustainability of nature and scenarios of the sustainability of development. Finally, Amazonia and diverse controversies and uncertainties from the twenty-first century placed by sustainability concerning ecological issues are presented as a process of production and reproduction of the structural conditions for sustainable development.
