Some Empirical Lessons JF - European Journal of Sustainable Development JA - EJSD VL - 1 IS - 3 SE - DO - 10.14207/ejsd.2012.v1n3p383 UR - https://www.ecsdev.org/ojs/index.php/ejsd/article/view/25 SP - 383 AB - It is commonly argued that Central Africa countries need economic growth and
gender equality to ensure economic well-being and improve the living standards of
the population. This paper, based on the Kuznets curve associated to
environmental analysis, aims to analyze the relationship between gender equality
and sustainable development. The cross-sectional analysis, with data from 11
countries in Central Africa in 2010, was used. Results find a positive correlation
between gender equality and sustainable development. When the Multidimensional
poverty index increases, environmental problems reduce, translating the role of
gender in sustainable development in all Central Africa countries. ER -
